There comes a time in our lives in which we're offered a choice: seek safety, or seek potential.Read More
One of the most important things I've learned in the last 5 years is that, when you have to change, change now.
That's why it's with no small amount of wistfulness that I'm announcing that the production studio I've invested those last 5 years into, Omaha Video Solutions, is closing its doors on June 31st, 2017.
As creatives, we must evolve and change. Creative teams constantly grow, flow, disassemble, and rebuild. And if you have the opportunity to do so at the right time and in the right way, you must lean into it. If it's time for you to change and you're unwilling to, you're only wishing frustration and tension on yourself. The most dysfunctional and frustrated we've been as a team in the last 5 years is when we waited too long to change or were unwilling to. But letting go is hard, and reaching past your own blind spots is even harder.
That's why I'm excited today. At OVS, we're celebrating an amicable parting, where everyone gets to grow in the way they need to, and we get to keep our commitments to our clients. And I'm proud of the work we've done. Since we began, we've dramatically built on the quality of our work with each and every project. We've learned immensely, cultivated strong relationships in the community, and told stories we believe in. Those skills and accomplishments will follow us through the rest of our lives.
So onward to the next adventure. We're ready for it, I'm ready for it, and I hope you're as excited as we are. Thank you, all, for being a part of this, and I'm positively psyched to begin a new process of becoming with you.
